Finding God

There is eternal fulfillment and salvation in relationship with God, but the life we have lived for self and sin separate us from him. Satan promises life, but living for self produces: un-filfillment, separation from God, and death will be our future.

Jesus says, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."

"Follow me" SURRENDER

In order to follow Jesus we have to fully surrender to Him. Jesus says in Matthew 16:24-25

"if anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it."

This is dying to your self lordship and making Him your Lord. When we die to living for self, we are reborn with His Spirit dwelling within us in peace and joy.

"and I will make you" GROWTH

When we give our lives back to God, He begins to change us. Seeing ourselves in righteousness and not sin because of the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. When His Spirit lives within us through faith, the fruit of the Spirit begins to grow. The rest of our life is a journey in becoming more and more like Jesus! This happens in daily surrender and in the community of the church.

"fishers of men" MAKING DISCIPLES

When he saves us it is not solely for peace in this life and eternal life but, He wants to make us fishers of men. The church is the body of Christ dwelling on the earth now and we have been given His mission to save the world. The God who created all things now desires to use us as His messengers of His love and saving power.
